The Tribute and Me: about to happen
« on: December 30, 2013, 10:12:29 AM »
I'm stoked! I'm taking delivery of my first Alembic guitar on Jan. 11, 2014.  It's been a long time coming.  Thanks to my good friend Will Gunn for the help in making this happen.

Thanks growlypants and artswork99.  I'll be sure to send some pictures along.  This is a first for me.  For the past 53 years I've played Gibsons and Fenders for the most part.  I've known about Alembic from the beginning (Phil L's Guild mod.).  I'm wondering what kind of tones I'm going to come up with?  I'm excited and ready to figure that out.

Congratulations Bob. Good to have another Alembic guitarist here on the forum. You have made a great choice there. I too look forward to the pics.

Hi Everyone.  My Tribute was suppose to arrive on the 10th of Jan. but Alembic was not happy with the finish.  So, they refinished it.  How cool is that.  When major brands ship guitars with goofy fret jobs and sloppy binding etc. Alembic refinishes a guitar that I probably would have never noticed a small blem on.  I love this company.  So right now the ups truck just pulled up.  Time to open the box.

Man it's cooooool.  Wow, I've played it since I've open it (3 1/2 hours ago) and I have a show tonight that is 2 hours.  It sounds fantastic.  I have a bunch of amps but I like it best through some early 80s Yamahas G50-112 and a G100-212 both series II.  Wow can't wait for the sound check.  I've never said that in 53 years.

Thanks Mica.  The Tribute is fantastic and I'm asking myself why I waited so long to get an Alembic.  A good number of guitarists are in the attendance at my gigs.  I found myself answering a lot of questions last night while going to my car.  Mostly, How do I get that tone, and, what kind of guitar is that?  It's nice to answer these questions ending the conversation with google Alembic Guitars, and Will Gunn Guitars and don't wait almost 40 years like I did.  Thanks to you all that had a part in building one heck of a guitar.

Wonderful news Bob.
Welcome again to the forum, and please share some pictures when you have a chance. We all love the Wickersham magic that makes such beautiful instruments.
