Jack Casady eyed my Epic in a class at Fur Peace Ranch, and played it for a minute or two. He didn't say much, but his eyebrows moved up and down a few times....

Well, I guess I should classify this as a "duh" moment.  Because, like an idiot, I DID NOT take a photo.

Years ago, when The Brothers Johnson were first getting back together after some of the craziness they inflicted upon each other, they played an outdoor concert in Detroit.  I took my 2000 MK Dlx / Series II 5-string.  Louis slapped it like it stole from him.  Both brothers signed the back of it with a Sharpie. Much to my surprise both signatures wiped away the first time I strapped it up to play.  That's the other "duh" moment.  Should have had them sign the back of the headstock.

I have also had Lamont Johnson (Brainstorm) play both my Alembics.  He was my kid's bass teacher for a while and I also have taken more than a few lessons with him.  https://youtu.be/ALpJij3-GJY

Peace,

James

Now, THAT'S cool!!
Hearing Phil and the Dead live for the 1st time in Feb. 71' was the reason I immediately went out, bought a bass and have been hammering away at learning to play it for the last 45 years. Phil is the best.

Cool that Phil is so approachable.  8) I have really come to admire his playing since hanging around you guys here.

I'd love to put my Alembic in McVie's hands sometime. Ain't likely gonna' ever happen, but I'd sure love to... if for no other reason than to say, "this is mostly your fault..."  ;D
