Wow! Great way to introduce yourself Jeff. Let's have some more pics - why not start an introduction thread?

Thanks Graeme! And thanks Jazzyvee. It is truly a fantastic instrument. It takes quite a bit of time to grasp what it is capable of but once you do, nothing else comes close.

Played to around 50 deadheads at the UK SoL winter party last night so I thought a little tie-dye was in order...

Here is a static picture taken today by my other half after shooting my part in the video I'm doing for my Grover Washington 15th year commemoration concert. It kind of shows my connection with the bass.

Love the top on that one Jazzy.

What size is that B string?
It looks massive.

The B-string as .130 though the bass had .128 when I got it from Alembic so it's not that big. :-)

My first thought was... WOW ! That top MUST be 3D ! And second, after reading Paul's post: finally, I have seen a bass strung B-A-D-G-C
cheers, Christian

My first gig with my new Europa which I was inspired to build after seeing Jazzyvee's Europa in the picture above, & Steve Wood's gorgeous Bluemoon Europa.

My first gig with my Europa was great! This bass is incredible! It is full & punchy & has great attack. You can hear & feel every note! It plays like a dream too. My fingers were not nearly as sore at the end of the night as they usually are on my SCSD.

Simon, I am definitely contented with this bass! I've waited all my life to have a bass like this!

Graeme, I made the cable myself because I wanted a short cable for small venues. Where this picture was taken I'm never more than 5 feet away from my amp so the 20 foot cable that it came with is overkill. So I got some great advice from Jimmy Johnson & Keith Humphrey on what connectors & cable to use. Keith suggested this Canare L-4E6S cable which comes in many colors & is smaller in diameter than the Alembic cable so it is very flexible.
