F-2B
« on: March 05, 2006, 05:47:43 AM »
Hi all,

A quick question about the F-2B, if your instrument only has a mono out, can the F-2b still be used in stereo, or does the signal coming from the guitar also need to be stereo?

Thanks,
James

If you use a 1/4 splitter you can use both channels at the same time on the F-2b, but in order to get stereo from your bass it has to have stereo output

Then my next question is:

Anyone know if it would be cost effective to ship a Skylark to Alembic to have some stereo wiring put in, or would it be best just to wait until I can afford to order a guitar to be built?

Thanks,

James

James; I have no idea whether anyone has sent a Skylark back for that modification, but I don't recall anyone posting anything to that effect on the board.  You might want to give Val a call and ask him about it.

James - give Alembic a call. I'm sure they can fill you in on the feasibility of such a mod and give you a cost breakdown.

I use a F2B with a mono output Jazz bass.
I jump the channels on the F2B (bass input #1 channel A, then a small cable from input #2 channel A to input #1 channel B) then I take the separate outs to a stereo amp and two separate cabs (2x10 and 1x15).
Actually, I use a dual channel comp in between the F2B and the power amp.
It works like a charm. I was thinking of wiring my Jazz with dual output to have separate output control from the bass like on my Series I.

Would linking two inputs like that really allow you to use both channels, or am I reading that wrong?
