I just got an sf 2 today--first off-if it's ok with mica and people want it i can scan the manual and post a pdf.

i only played with it for a few minutes but i love it already!

do you guys think it's better to run this thing in to the input of a bass amp or in the fx loop? do the internal gain jumpers need to be changed for either config? should i run pedals pre or post sf2?
i have read a bunch of old posts and they were helpful!

When I had mine, I would leave my amp head controls settings flat, and run the SF2 into the effects loop and use that as my tone control. It worked out great....

i plugged it into the fx loop of my gk backline 600 and it sounds fantastic! i leave the amp eq flat. puts the amp eq to shame... i'll post those pdfs ASAP.

at the gig tonight i ran bass, couple o pedals, amp with sf2 in fx loop. worked like a charm.

ok-i have the sf-2 manual scanned and in a single pdf BUT it's 18 meg. i don't know how to make it smaller! anyone?

How many pages is it? You could post the pictures you scanned as jpegs here or put them on a webpage.

could you rescan at a lower resolution? if its going to be used digitally, 72 dpi should be fine.
as long as theres no pics in there printing should look OK as well

What resolution did you scan? The manual is about 25 pages long I think.

You don't have to try and reach the 150K limit for posting here. If you've scanned at 150 dpi or less, just email it to me. I'll be able to post larger sized documents in the FAQ section.

i scanned at 180 dpi. i can just open each page in photoshop and change the res. i guess i'll do that-i wish i could just downsize the whole manual pdf.

The end result should be better if you do a new scan at the lower resolution, instead of changing the resolution of the scanned images in Photoshop.

What I usually do is printing the file through Adobe distiller. So, I open a graphic or large pdf file in photoshop or illustrator and when I normally save it as a PDF it gives me a, let's say 10 meg file, ok? Well, that's not what I want so I go to print and select Adobe distiller. Most of the times a file that size will be downsized to a couple of hundred kb. Distiller is part of adobe acrobat, the writer that is, not the reader. It's also possible to open the pdf in acrobat and use the reduce filesize option. Good luck and if it's not working, drop mail me. Attach one file to try it first. Otherwise my mailbox gets overloaded.
