What happened to the spoilers

OK heres the thing,i have been spending months trying to figure out what bass cliff burton's been using, i usually see him playing a black bass that looks like a spoiler, but also an aria pro sb. And one more question, what do u have to do to buy a spoiler cause its not on the products list, was it discontinued?

He played an Aria after his Spoiler was stolen, I heard, and I believe Alembic will make you a Spoiler if you order one. They're pretty available on the used market as well. In fact, I saw a black one for sale the other day...I'll post a link if I remember where I saw it.

You can get the Spoiler specs on almost all models.  I wonder if Alembic will make a 3 piece maple neck (without the pinstripes) I think Mica said that the Rogue is the best starting point for a custom Spoiler. Used Spoilers are not so hard to find, there's always one for sale somewhere.  Xtremely rare pics of (the real) Cliff Burton with his Spoiler:

I believe he only had it for a few months before it was stolen... I can get very similar sounds like Master of Puppets with my Spoilers, I think he might have used it for that masterpiece, not sure though...   (Message edited by fc_spoiler on March 29, 2007)

They will do anything for you. I have several spoilers including one 1983 in black that Alembic refinished for me. This company is the most accomodating I've come across.
After checking out what refinishes would cost locally in Joisey, I'm sending an Essence 5 back to the mothership for a refinish in black (which will be sprayed at the same time as my new Excel). So if you find one and you want it black and done right, they have done it all. including Cliff, Jason and Pete Steele.

I believe Mica would tell you, 'we never throw the templates away'. So even though it may not be a listed production piece, I don't think it would be any big deal for them to build you one.

I could be wrong here, but there are quite a few build threads for Adam and I'm pretty sure they're Spoilers
