I think they're about the same, but vermillion has a less bright sound.

Mark, thank you for the measurements (I actually don't remember what thread they where in) and all the detailed info on your incredible bass. It's too much to take in.Just incredible. Your logic between 7 strg 36 frets one pickup vs 8 strg 31 partials two pickups makes perfect sense since I play in stereo and would want that separation of sound. And now I have to come up with a string spacing solution somewhere between your narrow and Tripp's wide.Oh well...
