heck, if you're stuck you can hold it at my house. I'd even crack open a bottle of Laphroaig ;-)  Might take you a touch over 7 hours to get here though!

Folks,

My place is always an option as well - Keith has been here already, and I can always BBQ something.  I have a 600 lb BBQ cooker in my backyard, so that could be part of it if we went with my place.  The downside is I'm probably quite a bit away from most of you, so Shomaker's is probably a better option for most of us.  I can always bring my Phil Jones Briefcase and my Ampeg BA-115 for amps.  They're relatively small (especially the briefcase) and would give us something to use if Shomaker's can't support with amps (which is cool, I can understand it if they can't).  Like Dave, my only trepidation is someone other than a club member wanting to pick up one of my Alembics to try it.  I don't mind a club member doing it, but I'm always a bit timid at letting someone I don't know try it given the investment in dollars.  We'll see, I guess.

Again, my place is an option, though I'm sure not the only one.

Alan

Dave:  Steve Martin pulled that off once.  in The Jerk  He hooked up that car to the water spigot on the side of the church.  The car pulled half of the church away.  If you've got a SUV, it shouldn't be a problem.  Right?!?!?

Be back with you tomorrow after I talk to Kim Shomaker as to what gear he may have on hand that we can use.I have a Fender 60 bxr that I haul around when I don't want to haul my big stack. It's 60 watts digital with 1-15.If we don't need it it can stay in the truck. We will have to bring folding chair or stool if you want one.

Chuck,

I'm good with the timing, and I can also be there at 1230 if you need me to.  My wife has a high speed camera (a Sony that cost damn near $1K) and can take some good pics for us if needed.  Sounds like the amplification is taken care of.  I'm truly looking forward to meeting everyone and trying out some amazing instruments, and sharing mine with fellow Alembicians.

Best regards,

Alan

I just want to see what all I need to bring next saturday other than Alembics. Stands? Cables? Amps or cabinets? An empty truck to bring back Alan's basses? Let me know.

Mike,

I should think that cables, a stand or two, etc. would be appropriate.  I may bring a multi-effects unit (Boss GT-6B) as well, but I'm not planning on bringing an amp (well, I may bring my Phil Jones Briefcase, but thats about it).  As I understand it Shomaker's has some Ampeg stuff for us to play through, so I don't think amps are absolutely necessary.

Rest assured I will be keeping an eagle eye on my stuff! ;-)  I may have to leave the Dragon's Wing at home - at present it is unplayable (see my thread in the Troubleshooting part of the club).  All the others are going with me.

I will be bringing a cooler of ice and a small amp in case someone needs it.Also some drinks.
I have a GT-6B as well that I'm having trouble learning how to use.Maybe Alan could give me a few pointers.Alan maybe you could bring the DW anyway. The Shomakers have a good reputation in this area and I sure would like to see one.
Keith,
How is your schedule looking for Sat?

I'll bring the DW.  If the Shomakers can get it to play, I'd be eternally grateful.

Chuck, I'll show you what I know about the GT-6B.  I'm still learning how to use it myself.

I'll try to get there about 1230 to meet Chuck and get things rolling.

Kim,

Looking forward to it as well.  Do you guys do heat bends?  I might need that on my Dragon's Wing.

Thanks,

Alan
