My new Series I

I agree 100% with Toby. If you want it to look like new - do it, send it to the Alembic wizards. That's a great guitar you have. To see it as is, and then get it back in pristine condition will be startling. I did that with my Elan and when I got it back, I wasn't just blown away, I was COMPLETELY blown away. I had my Elan refinished in Wineburst, it had been clear coat on quilted maple. It's not everyone's cup 'o tea, but I love it. One thing that took my breath away was the way the newly cleaned brass just GLOWED. Anyway, if you're thinking about a refin, do it, you won't be disappointed!

Enjoy,

Reid

Keep it and have it refinished Jonathon. Now that I have a new fretted bass, I'm sending my epic off to be refinished. I have no qualms about getting rid of 10 years worth of gigging scars.

Sorry I missed Saturday in falkirk, but I have been nigh on unable to walk since Wednesday of last week. An old bike injury from 18 years ago.
I now am the poud owner of 2 screwed and nailed lower legs, which sometime give me some SERIOUS stick.
Let me know when you play there next.
How was the MK 5----------------Yeah!!! I know

BRILLIANT

Enjoy my friend

Sorry for the hijack.
keep the Series-she looks great.
I'vr heard from several people that refinishing has sometimes changed the tone of the instrument ever so slightly-so beware.
Anyway, battle scars show that the instrument has been well used. My Series 1 from 76 has a few, and I would no think ofrefinihing her at all
Just my $0.02

I've decided not to refinish the guitar and I'm going to sell it. It'll go up on the Bay in the next couple of days. Anyone here can have it for $2750 (including the original power supply and flight case) before I post it. Someone who really wants a vintage Series I should have it. I thought that person was me, but sadly it's not.
