Well...I couldn't take seeing pictures of Bill's amazing Series I six string any longer! As everyone knows, these are pretty hard to come by, especially in such great condition. This beautiful '75 Series I will be with me shortly. I'll post pics once it's arrived safely.

Wow Jonathan! Nice! I can't wait to hear how you feel it compares to the Skylark electronics. Now you guys are giving me a bit of a jones for a series guitar.

Peace

That is very nice especially with the caramel colored p/ups. Would'nt it be cool if Stanley Jordan played an Alembic?

I am planning to have this guitar refinished. Most people wouldn't find it necessary, some nothing short of blasphemous. It is 32 years old and has the usual finish checking and some finish cracks. The tailpiece needs one screw. Other than that, its in excellent shape. The electronics work fine and I had no issues in Chicago to suggest that it needs a Series upgrade.I thought I could handle the imperfections that Father Time has wrought, but 39 years of obsessive-compulsiveness wins out over 32 years of natural aging.

The reason I mention this, is that I will offer it for sale to anyone here who wants it. These guitars don't come up for sale often and I wanted to give someone the opportunity to have it as is. The price is $2950. That includes the original (working) power supply and a flight case.

It's not going on ebay or anywhere else and the price is non-negotiable. If no one here takes it off my hands, the next photos you see will be post-refin ones.

Regards,

Jonathan

Jonathan:

Why sell?  Is there something you don't like about it?  Mine is currently back at the mothership having the neck reshaped more to my liking.

Bill,

As crazy as it sounds, I think I just feel guilty about tampering with it simply to have it look brand new. If there's someone here who will love it for what it is - a naturally aged Alembic - I'd rather they enjoy it. Otherwise, I'm fully prepared to send it back through the time machine.

Stupid, huh?

If that were a bass I'd jump all over it like a spider monkey.

Jonathan-

Don't feel guilty- it's your guitar.  If you want it spotless, make it spotless.

If you had a mint one and were sending it to somebody to have them 'relic' it, THEN we might call you crazy.
