May be there's a possibility to meet in the Netherlands or in Belgium ? This would be more convenient for the british club members. If my memory serves me correctly Edwin's shop is in Hilversum.

Hey Werner. Veering wildly off topic, my hometown - Blyth, Northumberland in England is twinned with yours and I've swum against your compatriots in the dim distant past.
back on topic, Amsterdam would be a good venue - handy for Edwin's and more importantly, Mrs j wants to visit ;-)

Guys,
many thanks for this great response. I was just checking for interest and it seems that you all are really intersted....
Let me think further on this. I would like to plan something spectacular, not just a sit together.
I was also thinking already in doing it maybe in the Netherlands as it could be a good location for all (sorry Speicky...)
I will talk to Edwin soon about this to ask him for support.
Maybe we can get also support from Susan and Mica......
(I had organised two watch collectors meetings some years ago here in Germany and they have been really spectacular).
Let me think. Any suggestions are welcome. I don?t want to do a quick non-planned meeting but a great event....

Hah, no need to feel sorry, Oliver... I only thought of Rhein-Main, because it is easier for our Swiss and Italian members to go here. I have nothing against travelling myself, you should know ;-) Netherlands is absolutely fine.

If you need any support or suggestions, please let me know. I am really looking forward to see this gathering progressing ! ...and I think, Peggy, Bridget and Minnie are getting somewhat excited, too...

if the location can be near an airport that gets cheap flights in, I'll be happy to show up with the Series 1 graphite.

Providing it's somewhere in The Netherlands, I'm certainly interested!

If I can go there with someone near my place, I'd still be interested. *hint* *hint*

BTW, I just realized in the studio today that I will never sell my Essence, ever.

I still use my Fenders in live situations and I do have a nice Rickenbacker 4000, which perfectly fits in a Folkrock style band, I joined last year, but this Alembic is definitly the best bass I ever played.

So, I'm looking forward to get to know your perfect sounding (and looking) basses.

Hey Oliver,

Why not combine an event like this with the European Bass day?
I think it really is our sacred responsability to safe all those suffering bass players who haven't been alembicalized jet ;-).

Whenever you plan it, if I can make it I will be there!

Guys,
no updates. We have to start again from scratch.
Very busy in my job and much trouble with our band finding a new
guitarplayer.
Again, any suggestions?

Hey Oliver and Everybody,

Appologies for not chiming in earlier, life can become extremely serious at times, which was the case for me during the last very months.

With things calming down now and having a new job, I can see light at the horizon again and of course I would try to be with you whenever you meet.

However, time and costs would still be an issue for me at the moment, therefore closer to Munich (or Southern Germany in general) would definitely make things easier for me. Maybe in a few months it won't be such an issue anymore, hopefully.

In any case: Keep it up!

The European bassday is due to take place December 9th. Location: Festhalle, Viersen, Germany. Wouldn't it be great to have an Alembic gathering over there?

If the people @ Alembic get a stand over there, we can bring the basses/guitars
