Please read - regarding Mica
« on: July 08, 2007, 07:49:35 AM »
I have little information, and nothing current.  What I do know is that Mica has been away from the office for several days and will continue to be away from the office.  I don't know how long she will be out; hopefully, it won't be long.

I also know that she needs to rest.

Alembic is a small family run business.  Not only is Mica away from work, but her family is undoubtedly focused on her care and well-being as well.  So, my request to you is that we give all of them some space and time.  FTC and Serial Number requests, telephone calls and emails.  If it's not something that needs attention right now, then let's not be putting pressure on them right now.

Again, I have little information.  My assumption is that the shop is open and the guys are there building instruments, and the family is dividing time between caring for and looking in on Mica and covering her responsibilities as well as their own at the shop.

I was not asked by Mica or Susan to post this, and I hope that I am not out of line in doing so.  But the feeling I was getting from various threads and posts suggested to me that I needed to make this request of you at this time.

This is all I feel I should say on this as, again, I haven't spoken with anyone recently.  I'm guessing it might not be helpful to deluge Mica and Susan with telephone calls and emails.  You may, however, want to keep Mica in your thoughts and close to your heart.

Thanks,

David

More importantly ...

Is there anything we can do to help, or anything that Bill and Mica need that we can, from a distance, provide?  Maybe that's what we should focus on at the moment...

Just an idea,

Alan

I wish well soon and hopefully it is nothing too serious that is wrong.
I met Mica, Susan & Ron back in 2000 when I visited the factory whilst on holiday in the UK.
You couldn't meet a nicer bunch of people.
get well soon Mica

Oh now I know why Mica is away from her office...
Should have read the FTC thread first.
As a medical person myself and have two(now grown up children) I know the rigours of the said problem
Take care Mica and when that bundle of fun comes along I am sure he or she will be doted on my Ron & Susan

My prayers and well wish go out to the entire Alembic crew and family.
Working for a small family owned bussiness myself I fully understand how some things can put extra burdens and increased work load on fellow workers and employees.
And after all they don't build assembly line intruments, each is a work of art as well as a Top-Shelve instrument.

And as always, kuddos to you Dave. You do a great and sometimes under appreciated job.

Given the fact that Mica wears so many hats everyday at a non stop pace, a little R&R is probably well overdue.
Our good thoughts are with Mica and her family.

Congratulations Mica and Bill!

Question though, will the crib be Coco Bolo with ebony laminates? Will it have Winnie the Pooh inlays? Maybe LEDS?

Enjoy!
