Well I just purchased this poor baby Saturday. It is the newest edition to my Alembic arsenal. the serial number is 95w9288 an Epic 5. I have already started ordering parts for it and it will go into surgery on Saturday. I felt so sorry for this bass when I saw it on the wall at a local music store for the way it was abused but it will become beautiful again.

Also what size fret material is used on this bass. So I can see if I have any before the re-fret job.

Hi Dale; welcome to the group. While you're waiting for the serial number info, I was just curious as to what kind of condition the bass is in and what kind of work you are having to do to it.

Well there is one very poor crack repair in the fret board causing a waviness in the 18-23 frets.
two knobs are broken. The tailpiece was painted with looks like metallic gold fingernail polish. There is two bad gouges in the elbow relief. the bridge is solid green and needs one saddle fitted (the current saddle has a second groove worn into it not filed). the back of the headstock has a really deep impression into it like a knife stab. there is a little finish left on it around the knobs. the control cavity cover plate is broken. the neck laminates have swollen at different rates and are badly raised. there is a black goo on the back of the neck. The plate on the back of one tuner has fallen out. The tuners were loose. foam rubber installed under the pickups and all four screws were on top. The frets are protruding off of the side of the fret board. that's about it. She is pretty bas.

I don't know if you will need them or not but I have a pair of MXY56 pickups that came out of my 1998 Essence that I would be willing to sell you. They are in very good shape. Let me know if you are interested. Does anyone know what these go for new and what a fair used price would be?

I received a decent deal not great but I couldn't let it be seen in public in this condition. So I paid 700.00 for it.

essencetimestwo let me know how much I believe the bride pickup is gone but haven't dug into it that far.
