T-shirt question
« on: August 22, 2005, 07:14:19 AM »
Not sure if this is the appropriate section, feel free to move this post. My question is are tie-dye Alembic t-shirts still available. I received a very cool one when my Europa 6 was being built. (Sent to me in Nov. 96 via Eddie Berman at Music Loft in Raleigh, NC as consolation for my build time being longer than expected, if anyone remembers. Whoever sent this gift to me really knew what they were doing! Is this normal or am I the only one to ever get a tie-dye shirt to curb my waiting woes. I did not ask for it either it was a total surprise from some great people who I did not know, yet have grown to love via a mutual relationship with some fancied up trees.)

The shirt I have displays the company logo on the front center, same as a peghead logo without the Alembic lettering. The logo, as well as the dye pattern are full rainbow spectrum.

So as I lay here on my couch I am noticing a few holes in my shirt here and there, time for a new one I think.

Please let me know if tie-dye merchandise even still exists, I would be willing to take some pennies out of my Alembic Guitar Jar to purchase one (or two, or three).

I have to agree with you Jeff, it sounds like a really cool shirt.......I'd purchase 1 or 2 or three as well, even if they weren't tie dye and came in other colors......black, blue etc.

I've been meaning to get photos of my bass up here, i'll be sure to get a shot of my shirt also. Hope i'm not letting the cat out of the bag here, maybe this is a top-secret shirt. If i'm lucky, someone from Santa Rosa will come to repo it and I will be hiding inside, all the way to California, muhahaha.

You can get white shirts on cafepress.com, along with coffee mugs, underwear, and various other Alembic-logoed items.

A tie-dye shirt sounds very appropriate.  I'd certainly cough up a few bucks for a couple.  I did recently find an Alembic shirt in blue at Ed Roman's in Vegas.

Jeffrey; sounds like you could auction yours off in the For Sale section and make a bundle!

As far as I am aware, Cafepress is the only source for Alembic T-shirts at this time.

I got one of those shirts (made by a tie-dye artist in Richmond, CA) in the late 90's.  I wanted to party for the millenium celebration on new year's eve, 2000, but was told by my boss that I would have to unplug everything in my lab that night, then plug it back in the next morning because of the Y2K disaster-that-never-happened.  My partying plans were thus curtailed, but I wore that shirt  the next morning (new year's day).  One of my co-workers, a former Yosemite pack train leader and our resident tough guy, had celebrated the night before.  He made it in for the plug-everything-back-in work despite his hangover, but when he saw my shirt he had to make a mad dash for the restroom.  The vibrant colors on that shirt had put him over the edge!

Alembic used to sell the 3/4 sleeve jerseys, which were nice.  I think mine went to an old girlfriend.  I could certainly find a use for a tie dye Alembic shirt these days...

And yes, the chant: Tie Dye! Tie Dye! Tie Dye! TieDye!

Oh, and last night the Cafe Press Alembic sticker went on the truck...
