History and build info request Spoiler 592626 [possibly 85S3626]
« on: February 06, 2026, 04:16:41 PM »
Hi,  I just purchased and received this great condition, great playing 9.5lb Spoiler.
Serial number is 592626

Love the thin body and what I am told is a Bubinga top veneer.  Hoping to get the build history if it can be found.  Love to all!  Todd

Todd, double-check that serial number when you have a minute. Clearly you have a Spoiler... I was thinking it was an 85. There should be two digits detailing the year of the build, followed by an S, then four more digits for the sequence. And a USA after that.

Bubinga is pretty stuff. I had an 85 Distillate with a Bubinga top. Good to see you around these parts again. 😊

Edward thanks so much.  ?
x 5  S3626 USA is what I saw when I put it under a large magnifier. There is a chip in the wood where I presume there was an eight meaning 85. I do know the original owner and he did buy it in 1985.

Serial number is x 5S3626 USA. The wood is chipped on the fingerboard making the first digit on legible but I do know the owner and he did buy it in 1985 so I presume it's missing an eight.  Thanks Edward for pointing that out below. I've modified this description but I'm not sure how I can modify the serial number shown in the title or if I can
