Chris Dreja, guitarist and founding member of the Yardbirds, has passed at 78.   Played rhythm for Clapton, Beck, and Page.

When I saw the Yardbirds in January of 67 Chris was playing bass. Jimmy Page was the only guitarist. I am pretty sure this was after the brief period when both Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page were both playing guitar in the band, Chris was most likely playing bass then, too. But of course he is best known as the original rhythm guitarist and founding member.

Sad to see all the 60s musicians pass away one-by-one. All the bands I played in during the  60s played Yardbirds covers. I still consider Jeff to be the best, and most innovative, guitarist they ever had. RIP Chris thanks for all the great music...
