Stanley has a great signature... ain't no mistakin' that one!

I'd probably have followed the lead of other Club Members and had the backplate of my Alembic autographed... the little Easter Egg is much cooler. Just my thought... as the guy who sometimes gets tasked with getting those autographs back offa' guitars, in varying degrees of success. In most cases I don't believe it helps sell guitars. Maybe it brings this shop better luck? Personally, I see a couple hours' labor, cleaning sticky residue and buffing that out.

I had Stanley sign my backplate, then sent it to a machinist who:
duplicated the backplate, and made me 3 copies
copied Stanley's signature to a new backplate from the signed plate.

The signed one is on display, the engraved one is on my Series I.

The spares await additional signatures (hoping for Jimmy Johnson + a player to be named later).

That engraved brass is a great idea.

I had a similar thing done, but on a Gibson truss-rod cover. I took a high-res picture of a signature from a letter, and had the truss-rod cover made. Nobody really knows (or cares) who it is, but I know. And that was the point.

I've got this buddy - huge Samantha Fish like, super-fan. All Zoowicky could ask me a while back was what was the best indelible marker pen to have her sign his guitar. I finally got him to just get her to sign his guitar strap rather than ruin a Les Paul Custom.

Had Stanley AND Victor Wooten signatures on the inside of the Distillate brass plate.

Then Mike Watt (Minutemen, fIREHOSE) signed it,  it was right after a show at Shank Hall in Milwaukee.  He was sweaty (this man puts on a Show!) as he scrawled his name, the edge of his hand smeared the other two signatures…  :o
