Best practices for volume setting F-1X and SF-2 together?

So I totally ended up having to adjust the settings on my F-1X and SF-2 and didn’t bother keeping track of where I had it.

Which means dialing everything in from scratch.

Any suggestions regarding how to optimally set the volume levels? Start with SF-2 at and then move to F-1X? Go the other way around?

Assuming you are running the Superfilter in the effects loop of your F-1X, and not using it as a preamp... unplug it for a minute.

A little tip I got years ago, set the F-1X controls at 2-10-2 for B-M-T. Leave both 'bright' and 'deep' switches off. This approximates "flat".

That'll give you a starting point. Now, hook up your SF-2 again and tweak it back in. For whatever reason, I like to high-pass A, and low-pass B.

I tend to set my F1-x first then add the Sf-2 as required. The other way round i felt like a dog chasing it's tail. Once i got a setting that worked for my main gigs, i used a sticky label maker and stuck the settings on the front of my rig. That becomes my starting point.
I might add that generally i tend use the SF-2 only for reggae gigs.

On my SF-2, I tend to use one channel as an HPF to tame the low, and the other channel I use the band pass to find whatever I want a bit more of.

One of the things I’m hoping to do is to minimize any noise, and to also not send too hot of a signal out of the DI
