My Father was not a musician, but he was friends with a few,

I was young when I heard about the legends of Wes playin the "Five Spot" down in NYC

Pat gives a well worth hearing evaluation here

Much has been written about Wes's pop oriented recordings.

Many folks acquired a rather diminished view of the man because of this

Pat's rather enlightening comments/views were needed on this subject in my opinion.
