Testing to figure out why I can't post a question with attachment.
Error is "Exploit attempt denied by virtual patching"

Attachment is JPG, 246K

Same error from Mac desktop and Fire tablet.

When you click on "Reply", it opens a page where you can write your text and attach pictures.  Below the text box, click on "Attachments and other options".  When that opens, you will see "Attach:" and a button to click to "choose file".  Note that there is a size limit.

When your text is done and your picture finishes uploading, click on "Preview".  You will see how your text looks, but (if I recall correctly) the picture won't load until you click on "Post".

Unless something has changed very recently the image will not preview before you hit post.

Here are the basic guidelines/limitations for posting pictures.

First reduce the physical size; the maximum height is 1,200 pixels and the maximum width is also 1200 pixels.  Next is reducing the file size; the maximum file size if 500kB, and no more than 10 attachments per post.

Thanks for the replies.  I was trying to start a new topic, not respond to an existing one.  Just to be sure I tried adding a jpeg to a reply, and previewed it before attempting to post.  Same problem.  The jpeg in question is 640x480, 243K.

Same thing; when you start a new topic, you see the subject line, the formatting icons below it, and the text box below the icons.  Then below the text box you see a plus sign followed by the phrase "Attachments and other options".  Is that where you went to attach your jpeg?

Yes, It is.  Afterwards, the jpeg name showed in the attachments box and everything appeared successful until I tried to post.

I have '94 and '96 Epics with very different electronics, and I'm trying to post pictures to find out if they left the factory that way.

Thought I recall that ‘new’ members required 10 posts prior to posting attachments.   ??
I may be wrong, experienced multiple brain-farts today. 

But yeah, try it again.

Tried again, same error.  Another weird factor is that I was able to post a picture to the "Serial Number Request" thread back in March.

I don't need to pursue this any further.  My question was about wiring and control differences between a '94 Epic and a '96 Epic fretless.  The wiring differences were due to a change to a newer jack in the '94 and the addition of a component called a "ferrite bead" in the '96.  The controls worked differently because the positions of the bass and balance controls had been reversed on the '96.  All of these changes were apparently done by previous owners -- it all seems to be Alembic stuff, just shuffled around.  Thanks to everyone for your interest in my posting problem.

Just to deliver one more blow to this dead horse, I notice that my posts have an IP address in the lower right corner, where everyone else's has "Logged".  Maybe this has something to do with my pix being rejected?
