Rogue 5 string for sale at uk Musical Instrument Auction

Here is a link to a UK based musical instrument auction that is starting tomorrow.

There is a really nice 5 string Rogue with an estimate of £1500 - £2500 which even at the higher valuation would be a steal compared to reverb or ebay prices of late.

You may recall I bought some alembic stuff from there in 2021. (In-2, pickups and spares).

I presume the extra switch and knob may be for side LEDs. But nothing written on the build card.

Went for £2200 plus comission and Vat.

That's about $2850 US, plus whatever. Not bad for that bass. I'm guessing the extra switch and knob is LED and a dimmer dial...

Not that I need it, or ever would do it, but every so often I think I'd like to have a Rogue 5, with a single FatBoy. Controls and all, just wouldn't need the Pan. Hmmm. 🤔

according to my sources, VAT's 20%.  plus commission.  so, add another $900?  i dunno how this gets calculated, it'd morbidly interesting to see how it all shook out.  kinda like our tariffs,  seems like funny money until someone loses an eye or the stock market gets crashed.  i dunno.  gettin too old for this.

Im my recollection is correct, when i bought my lots from there, the cost was hammer price + auctioneer' commission, + buyer premium + shipping, then vat on top of that sum. I was quite shocked at what that added to what i bid. No regrets though.

You got some nice parts from that deal too, as I recall... and some of them came in especially helpful for your old maple short-scale. Surprise charges are universally annoying, though I think that's a nice Rogue 5 at under market rate Stateside. Probably there too. Hopefully a player scored a nice bass.

So right, i did consider registering to bid in the hope it would come in for a song, then find a new home. Hieever i'm still looking for a home for my bocate europa.
