7 string alembic?
« on: July 27, 2004, 12:49:56 PM »
I play a 7 string along with all my other basses and I've found that i like it a whole lot more than all my 6 strings (the 3 complete octaves from the low b to high f certainly kicks ass). So i know that alembic could build a spaceship, if they really wanted to, but i have heard no mention of a 7 string...either one being made or any even inquiring about making one. SO! I was wondering; will alembic make me a 7-string? please?

Hello Austin,

we have made many multi-stringed instruments. Here are  links to a couple of 8 string basses we made; they are not as one might think 4 string basses with  octave strings, but instruments with 8 single strings. So we can definitely build you a 7 string axe.

Feel free to give us a call and we can talk about it.

PS: I'm not at work now, but will be there tomorrow & the rest of the week.

Thanks for getting back to me, val. I'm definetly interested in ordering a custom 7. I was thinking either a series II or a rogue. I have some ideas for the bass that i'd like to get some light on, so should i call sometime? Thanks!

I had a custom 7 lined fretless Spoiler made in 2000. Cocobolo, deluxe laminates, crown headstock, wide spacing. It is a very big boy!
