Tired of tripping over guitars
« on: January 04, 2025, 10:40:13 AM »
Getting tired of trying to navigate a path thru the guitars in my home office, finally put up wall mounts for some of them today.

Looks great. Nice looking Alembics, love the Darling Series guitar, and your other Alembics are unique!  Looks like you might have a couple of Guild acoustics too, very nice. 😊

I like those String Swing mounts... I have them all the way around my room. Haven't seen these with the closing jaws yet.

They're Hercules Guitar Hangers GSP38WB Plus. Got them on Amazon in a 3 pack.

rv_bass  - yeah, the Darling is a sweet guitar. Really dig the baritone, too. Those are two of the very few long neck small body basses that Alembic made. They are REALLY heavy and the neck wants to kiss the floor :) That low E really sings, though. A few Guilds - an F212 and a D50 both from the early 60s. An old Martin D28, and the normal good-enough instruments one collects over time... There are about 15 in this room, and a handful of others scattered around the house.

A Series II fretless - I'm seriously jealous.

What are the extra toggle switches on the basses?

They're both customs made in '77 - one channel with standard series II lo pass filter, the other with a "universal" filter channel, with switchable hi/band/lo pass filter. On the fretted bass, Ron added a notch filter option to the universal channel, essentially making it a SF channel. Both have CVQ. The switches are mono/stereo, filter in/out, if the filters run in series or parallel, and notch (on the fretted).

Alembic sure does make magical instruments!

Wow, sounds like you have an FL-105 built into your fretted Series II, very cool!
