Farewell, Sir.
« on: December 29, 2024, 03:19:11 PM »
President Jimmy Carter has passed away at age 100.

No matter what one thinks of his policies, I say he deserves great respect for being the only President in US history to never fire a shot.  And he was, without question, our greatest former President.

Which, I'm convinced, is why he struggled with the Presidency.  Though he did get a higher percentage of his legislative agenda through Congress than Ronnie Raygun did.

Remember when civility and integrity were part of the presidential landscape?  Carter was a real decent person, a mensch, as my people would say.   And he provided Dan Ackroyd with great inspiration to amuse us all.  Who can forget this gem:

Bill, tgo
