I FOUND IT! Alembic Historic Serial Number List

Some of the longer tenured denizens of this site may remember the historic list of  Alembics by year and serial number that one of our members put together.  Then, a few years ago, it seemed to have disappeared.  It was discussed here and no one could come up with a current valid link.  Today I was doing some guitar-related research and happened to stumble upon the missing list!  Here's the link:

I still have it on my pc and also try to keep it updated, not sure if it's a good idea to put it online again though...
It's ancient (amateurishly made with MS frontpage) and I'm not familiar with the current web requirements (was I ever?) :-)

Exemplary ! My quite beloved 73-32 is in the showcase as well and could be entered as in existence and fully functional. I intend to play it at an upcoming gig .

I have quite a long list... just never knew what to do with it. 


Just as a hobby for myself, I thought one time about generating a fairly simple Excel document that contained a list of instruments by serial number, and under each, (if known) list model, (i.e. MSBI) identify body details like Standard Point, Omega, Small Std., Custom. Figure if I tried to include wood, I'd end up with a bunch of guesses. Some would be obviously right, and some would be wrong, accidentally. Better off leaving it out, I thought, unless you had a build card in hand, or a note from home, so-to-speak.


Time, time, time... most of it is in my head anyway. I'll just wait, and buy the book. 😊

I currently have and previously had a few basses and guitars that are not on that master list.  If someone takes on creating an updated version let me know and I can provide numbers and models (mostly Series basses)

I would LOVE to spend a week, volunteering at Alembic to create a database for ALL the instruments they created.   I'd enter the data manually all by myself, that just sounds like a lot of fun, going thru all the paperwork, imagining where those instruments have been, and will be....

I'm sure it won't take that long... only 14000+ instruments :p

I would too, but a week wouldn't make much of a dent. It's gotta' be close to 15,000 by now, if not already past. That's a lotta' dadgum readin' and typin'...

It's such a huge, never-ending undertaking too. There's a few duplicate numbers. Maybe even triplicate. Missing numbers. Then there's those crazy alpha codes in with numbers... exported Alembics with totally different numbering sequences. Stamped numbers that don't seem to make sense at all, yet there they are. And a repeated theme on the old cards is that there simply isn't much information. On some level, I like the mystique!

Where is Eiji-san anymore? He had compiled quite an archive too, particularly on the early 70's instruments. I'm in too, for at least a hundred or so verified numbers if someone steps up to start the thing.

I'm the owner of a 2004 Further that's a duplicate serial number.  There is a bass with same number and -B suffix from what Mica returned for my request.  Kind of neat to know.

Lots of work to do, I have about 300 folders with pictures (serial number as folder name) which I want to add

Btw: Mica did offer to host the list 
But Imho it should at least be a bit more professional made for that to happen... (folder structure etc is a bit of a mess...)

Good morning .   Great list but now I'm more confused than ever!   I have what I think is either an Elan or Persuader but for the life of me I can't tell which it is.  My serial number (88F4928) shows up nowhere so any thoughts or help greatly appreciated.
Seems like it's a mix of both?  is that possible?
