SN 77728 Custom
« on: November 05, 2024, 06:43:26 AM »
Looking for any info on this highly custom series 1. Has anyone seen another like it? This has a thick ebony strip sandwiched by what looks to be rosewood. It does not have a truss rod. I’ve seen graphite necks without truss rods but not one like this. Any info would be greatly appreciated

Welcome Greenbean,

SN searches can take some time so be patient.  That sounds like an interesting Series I and we'd love to SEE it please.  Excuse the slightly awkward method but here's how:

1. Attached photos need to be less than 1000KB (1MB) so you may need to prepare some reduced jpegs.
2. Start writing a reply and click the Preview button down below.
3. From the Preview page click on the words "Attachments and other options".
4. Click "Choose File" and navigate to the pic you want to attach.
5. To post more than one click "more attachments" and repeat step 4. (Up to 10, but each one smaller than 1MB)
6. Clicking "Preview" will only show your text - the attachments won't appear until you click "Post".

We look forward to seeing what you've found!

Thanks,
Jimmy J

Greenbean,
Welcome to the camp!
If possible please do post some pictures.  If what Phillip showed us is accurate, that is certainly a dreamy looking bass.

Hi Paul, Green posted some FAB photos of it on Facebook,  I inquired about this Bass once to the original owner who resides in PA  :)

Oh you can bet I was lookin', Keith!  :o ;D  I would love to see 728 in-person.

I'll be fascinated to see what turns up on this one. It has very little in common with either of ours built close to it.
