Pretty bass. Seems pricey for a set neck with simple electronics. And almost 12 pounds!

I too am surprised if the weight is accurate. Pricing anymore is anyone's call. On one hand, $6500 ain't what it used to be. On the other, well... like you said Tom, that's a little steep for what bones you get here. That said, I see no issues at all; it looks almost unplayed. And at one time, this was darn close to what I wanted. Omega-cut, and 32" scale are both checked boxes for me.

killing a little time here, might as well stir hte pot...

that omega looks more like a semi-circle to me.

nice bass but $6500k USD seems kinda optimistic to me.  i think i got a picture of a fancy omega arount here somewheres.  might hafta trot it out.

What you said is accurate,  not stiring the pot at all in my opinion , and I would very much like to see that photo , please,!  :)

I’m surprised it’s at Dusty Strings and not at The Bass Shop across town (ex-BassNW). I would think Chad would have more traffic and internet hits.  And yes, that is quite an optimistic price.

Description calls out, “… reminiscent of Alembic's Omega model …”.
It does look pretty.

In my opinion , the descrip is a tad illusory,

for example,

the late Mo Foster had a Series 1 with a rather generous spacing in the omega cut  :D ;) 8)

Omegas, much like scrolls, are unique. It's just one of the hundreds of things you get to think about when you custom order an Alembic. I wanted mine to have more of a mid-70's Omega than the 'cupholder' that was usually seen on Anniversary Model Omegas. That's actually in my spec sheet. When they did the carve, I sent pictures of several that I liked.

This one I think only appears to be larger because there isn't a neck beam of lighter contrasting wood to create that negative space. The body pattern is a custom... if you click on the link I posted and read the FTC thread, the fella who commissioned this bass was inspired by the early 70's soft horn Omega-cut bass Phil Lesh played in the Grateful Dead movie. It isn't exactly like it. But it's exactly what they wanted.
