A true one of a kind.   An accomplished musician AND a great satirist.  What other Texan would name his band “The Texas Jewboys”?

I read a few of his mystery novels (featuring a Texas Jew named Kinky Friedman solving crimes in NYNY); they were fun.

As Bill said - there was but one Kinkster.

Peter (who also supported his gubernatorial run a few decades back)

Sad loss. I saw him at the Horseshoe in Toronto some years back. Sylvia Tyson of Ian and Sylvia was at a front row table. Kinky Friedman, stop.

One of my shop customers, an Oxford-educated retired psychologist who spent his entire career working for the DoD (imagine that...) gave me one of his books one time.
