Is this bass an Alembic?
« on: April 08, 2024, 03:48:56 PM »
Not sure if you will be able to see it outside facebook but i just spotted this clip of the wailers and Familyman's bass sure looks like it could be an alembic. The fretboard inlays certainly look the part but i can't see the bass close enough to know for sure.

I do recall Mica saying at some point that he did have an alembic, i think Elan?
What say you?

Went by pretty quickly and the headstock was only partially visible in one frame but it didn't look like an Alembic to me. From what I could see of the headstock it looked "Fenderish" despite not being a Fender either. There must be more footage from that event that isn't cut together, maybe on Youtube?

Looks a lot like a Yamaha BB. Neck-through, reverse-P, elongated position markers, it all adds up.

Yamaha BB sounds good to me - as do the video segments!

OK, you guys have better eyes than me. I was truly hoping it was a sighting of his Elan bass.
