Quick question: Does anybody here have experience with Alembic slender taper (1.5"nut) necks and other manufacturers' short/narrow neck profiles? I'd be curious to hear any thoughts on how similar the slender taper necks are to something like a Gibson EB-0 or a Fender Music Master bass. Or, to anything I'd be likely to find in-store somewhere like Guitar Center.
I've been thinking about what kind of strings to have my upcoming custom build set up with. I grabbed my '69 EB-0 the other day to get reacquainted with the DR flats I have on it, and it struck me just how effortless that neck is to play. It got me rethinking (while there's still time) whether to change the specs for the custom to a narrower nut. I'm already going for the lightest build and shorted reach possible. My original thought was to keep the string spacing close to what I have on my Spoilers so the feel would be similar, but now I'm thinking it would make sense also to go for the most relaxed left hand posture I can as well. Of course, being in the middle of the East Coast I have no dealers within a day's drive to actually get my hands on a Brown Bass.
