Derek,

Thanks for the pics, that's a sweet looking bass!  (For future reference, you should be able to attach more than one pic to a single post, but this worked fine too).

So the pot that spins all the way around is the one closest the bridge on the front, the small square piece in the last of your photos, right.  In case you didn't know, reply #9 above is from Mica Wickersham the youngest of the family who own and operate Alembic.  Whatever she says is the truth!

My suggestion would be to order a replacement pot from Alembic so you can get the exact component you need.  Then either install it yourself or get some help with the soldering and shrink wrap.  Since that pot is on its own and not soldered to a circuit board the task is not that difficult.

Both set screws need to be loosened in order to pull the knob off and determine the size of the shaft they're mounted to.  Do that before ordering so you know if it's the 1/4" or 1/8" shaft version.  Try calling Alembic late-morning to early afternoon CA time.  Mary is usually the one who answers the phone.

Keep us in the loop!

I was finally able to get the second screw out , unfortunately it was after I already got off the phone with Mary . I’ll email her the measurements and we’ll get this ordered. Thanks again Jimmy for all your help and advice . It turned out to be the smaller 1/8” shaft

Great - 1/4" shaft means you won't have to enlarge the mounting hole for the replacement.

Mica seems to be able to see it but I'm looking at that photo thinkin' wait, is that 3-1/16s?  Naw.  It's hard to tell from that exact camera angle.  But Derek, you think it's an 1/8th" shaft?  If it is, the replacement coming may be the larger 1/4" version.  And if that's the case you may also need a new knob...  Slightly confusing but hang in there and it will soon be fixed!!  Keep us updated...

Nope - I was wrong. That's a 1/8" shaft there. Will require a new knob. Please note that the new knob is the same as the old knob, but new - so it will have the original matte finish. The knobs tend to get shiny over time, so if you're the type of person that needs things to really match, then you will need an new 1.8" knob for the other control to match.

Appreciate the help. It sounds like , at this point , I need a new potentiometer ( I believe 1/4” is the only available option ) , along with a knob to fit the 1/4” shaft for volume , and a new matching 1/8” knob for the tone. Are those items normally in stock?

Thanks again for your help

Yes these are all in stock. You can order the knobs on the website, and then just mention in the comment that you want to add the potentiometer to the order. Or you can email or call your order in.

You are correct, only 1/4" pots are available now. 1/8" spares were exhausted a couple of decades ago.
