Series 1 or 2?
« on: September 10, 2023, 04:20:08 AM »
Have what I was told by appraiser is a Series 2 Alembic Bass guitar. Inherited it from my uncle who loved it! Posting it for sale because it’s too wonderful to not be played, and no one in my family does. But getting feedback from eBay that it is a Series 1? Would love to know what to look for to tell the difference. I’ve got zero background here, so visual clues would be super helpful! Thanks in advance! P.S. website wont let me upload a photo!

You need to resize images to a specific size.  Can you locate a serial number?  Typical location is either on the top of the headstock or on the fingerboard just past the 24th fret.

Welcome…the links on this page will help..

And as Paul mentioned, you can resize your photo to around 500kb and post, would be great to see a photo of the bass and we could clarify if Series 1 or 2

Thanks for posting the photo, definitely a Series l (three position toggle switches for the two Q switches), very nice bass, one of Poor nigel’s basses (Thomas), who owned a few very nice basses

that a series 1. A series 2 has more knobs.
