Been around this bass for several years now, but its been "mine" for a little over a year now. This bass belonged to a friend of mine who passed away. He had let me play it a few times and I always joked about keeping it under my bed for him anytime he needed. After he passed away his wife called me and wanted to know if I wanted it. Honestly, I didn't need it, but I couldn't stand the thought of it just being sold on facebook or something. Beautiful bass that plays like a dream.
I know it is an Essence 5 string, and the serial tells me it was made in 98, but that's about it. Any sort of information would be greatly appreciated. Its a special instrument to me now, and the more I can know about it the better.
I will say, the case he had for it was not original, and I am not sure what may have happened to the original. Is that something that I can order a replacement on somewhere? Not an urgent thing, but would be a good thing to keep in mind for when I can get around to it.
Edit: I also did a registration for this just now, but I accidentally sent one in with a typo in the SN (98k1186 as opposed to the correct 98K11886). Not sure if that's something that can easily be cleaned up or not. Apologies for my sloppy typing :'(
