Maui
« on: August 09, 2023, 03:05:12 PM »
We are currently in Cool, CA, with our eldest son & his family; they lived on Maui for 6 years before their kids were born.  They are stunned by the loss of so many places they knew & loved, and we are all shocked by the scope of the destruction.  What a mindblowing tragedy.

Saw reports this morning of people standing in the ocean to avoid the fire; must have come on pretty quick.

My wife lived in Hawaii for a time.  I came out of the shower to hear her crying as she watched the reports on TV.   Today is her birthday, but she doesn’t feel much like celebrating.

So tragic. My family and I vacationed in Maui back in 2010. Lovely place. Hate seeing the destruction that's happened.
