Hello!
Brand new to Alembic, super excited to acquire a bucket list bass.
Hope this has some history to reveal?
Looks like it has seen better days, but hope to use some TLC to give it a new life.
I’m sure I’ll be reaching out for guidance.
Thank you in advance

Ed

Hey welcome to the alembic world. We are always interested in seeing pictures of new members alembics. Maybe you can add a couple of here when you get the chance.
The sound of Alembic is medicine for the soul!

Hi Ed, Welcome to our hangout. I think I know the bass... glad someone is going to put her right, and you came to the right place. I came here 9 years ago with a Persuader 5 in need of similar details. Congratulations & Compliments, truly a bucket-list bass.

Mica looks these numbers up as she has time, if this is the one I'm thinking of, pretty sure the top is koa, mahogany core, the magic is those three purpleheart laminates in the maple neck.

Here's a good place to post some pics as you fix-https://club.alembic.com/index.php?board=695.0

Thank you Jazzyvee and Ed!

Very nice club chat you have here with tons of info.
Going to soak it all in for sure!
I take delivery of it on Weds, so hopefully no major surprises.  Seller has been very helpful.
Going forward, I will be super cautious on what is within my wheelhouse to address / fix and what I should defer to specialists.
I'm really comfortable with working on guitars, and have built a few from blanks with good results, but these instruments command respect and pause, so Im sure I'll be asking lots of questions!
Understand about Mica.  Look forward to whenever Mica can respond!
Will post some photos once I have it in my claws!

Many Thanks Mica!
Hope you are feeling better.

Added a few more to the collection will register and send some serial numbers your way.

Trivia note: I remember a Denny's Music in Vancouver, WA from back in the day that was across the river from Portland, OR
