My Dad's bluegrass/country band used to keep Jim & Jesse tunes in regular rotation, so I had to be up on that stuff. Their mandolin player was an expert at McReynolds style cross-picking so that was in my musical vocabulary early on. Jesse McReynolds was a pretty big fan of the music of the Grateful Dead, and covered quite a bit of it in his time. That was most of my reason for posting here.

Thanks for sharing this, Greg. Very interesting albums put out by them. I first heard J&J on the Porter Wagoner Show singing a Louvin Bros. song. They are one of my favorites. J&J and the Osborne Bros are right at the top for me.
