The drunk driver comes to a STOP sign and blows right through it, without even slowing down.

The stoned driver comes to a STOP sign … slows down …  comes to a complete stop … and waits for it to turn green.

Happy 420 everyone!

now that's a headstock logo!

after a brief respite where i had to come back to reality to use the sharp kitchen implenemts to get dinner prepped it's off to the boom-boom room for some bangin' 34.5% THC premium weed and then a nice midafternoon soak in the mile high sunshine and wind.

so have fun and freak out kids, but please be be safe.  when in doubt, follow the BeenDown silver stoner safety guidelines while partaking of the noble weed:

1) no power tool use.
2) no driving.
3) no drinking.
4)

And a bongo tip: try using hot water in the bong for smoother hits!

Had a conversation with my youngest a while back:  One of his co-workers told him at the end of the day that he was going home, putting some ice water in the bong, and hitting the recliner.  The lad tells him "My dad always said to use warm water."  "Warm water in a bong??  Never heard of that."
A couple hours later he gets a text:  "Warm water in the bong!  Your dad's a f***in' genius!!"

to quote from one of my kid's favorite movies from the early 'aughts when the two wayfarerers view the castle from afar "Do you think he's compensationg for something?".

who'd a-thunk it?  we used ice water when we were kids.  i seen a guy chug leftover bong water the day after hoping to get a buzz.  it was nasty.  these days i use a vape pen.  i keep two loaded at all times.  i used to have three.  which leads us to todays's  safety tip:  like cell phones, vape pens and hot tubs do not mix :-(

if i smoked the way i vaped i'd be dead already.  sheesh!  what a life!

It was memorable!  I installed the new PA I donated to the Music Cafe' where I run the sound and Host the Open Mic's .  WOW what a difference.  A new Yamaha EMX5 12 channel powered mixer and a pair of JBL JRX212 monitors is a huge step in power and clarity .  I'm able to run the Aux out's to run the outdoor speakers through the old PA. The boss and crew are estatic .  First show is tonight !

I celebrated in my usual 5th Gen San Franciscan way ...  Rock on my Brothers and Sisters

Peter - Are you in Chicago, then? I know the Old Town School of Folk Music... it's close-by to me!

Once upon a time;'79 to '81 I was in & out of Waukegan, a brief stint in Evanston, then on to Chicago (Lakeview) until '83, when I got married & moved to Lemont.  Sycamore '99-'06, and DeKalb since then.

But my lesson in proper bongatude from John was mid-'79.  A friend was living on John's back porch (hey, wadda ya want, he was a folk singer.....) & I stopped by.  First time I met John, and not only did he teach me that, he reached under the couch, said "Here, play this!" and handed me a New York Martin.  Class act.

Peter (who will add that the esteemed Mr. Calhoun was the first person he knew with a padded toilet seat, and that the friend he was visiting - Chicago folk legend Mick Scott - spent some time teaching guitar at the Old Town School)
