Nice looking bass!  Looks like someone removed the original Dupont finish due to the checking, but left some of it around the top of the headstock.  Hard to tell, but it likely has a mahogany core that is now quite dark due to the use of Danish Oil for the finish a long time ago, or possibly it was stained to match the top and back???  Nice to see the original blue case with it.
