And it would appear that the Club is now on the new server!

A splendid rebirth and revival thus.
For us all to partake with enjoyment.
The brightest light dost shineth in our world.
Henceforth, we shalt prevail far onward.
Unbeknownst, adventures await beyond.

Adding my Thanks to Alembic for providing this cool little corner, and to the Moderators and behind-the-scenes folks who keep it working.

With an exception for discussion forums involving musical instruments, I too, avoid all social media platforms... always have. This is by far, my favorite spot to check-in morning and night. I really appreciate that it isn't filled with the same fluff bs threads that clutter the front page of TalkBass or UMGF. There's hardly a thread on here that I don't at least learn something from.

Over the years, I've been lucky enough to meet up and talk with quite a few folks here. Yeah, real friends... imagine that. Hope to meet more in years to come.

Must be your browser, rather than the connection. On android, click the square and flick your browser upward to close it. Then reopen the browser and see if you can access the Club again.

One more "oddity on the Alembic Club website" - has anyone but me been getting "this connection is not secure" when logging in? That started for me around the time of the server upgrade.

Current Firefox on Linux, and using the Firefox local password storage, if that matters....

Make sure that you access the Club at https://club.alembic.com

If you use a bookmark, verify that the web address for the bookmark does not start with http://

The only difference I have noticed, and this is probably my ancient Android operating system, the only way to edit a post, (which is often for me, trying to post from a tiny little touchscreen... and trying not to dork-spell stuff... the only way now is the 'Modify Post' button at the top/right. The little "Edit Post" button in the bottom/right does nothing.

I've noticed Firefox on Ubuntu is pretty poor at retaining sessions and preferences, though that's on my work laptop and I'm not accessing the Club from there. Using Chrome and the KeepassXC extension for passwords on Ubuntu, and no problems with sessions and preferences there. Chrome on my Android devices - pretty unproblematic.

The shortcut is working for me as a moderator, but that means there's no time-limit for edits. You should have 24 hours to edit after you post.

This little do-dad... the red one, doesn't work anymore. The green one does. I also notice just this post, the "Insert Quote" button doesn't work.

Again, I think it's probably on my end.

*I will try these buttons from my desktop computer tomorrow morning.

**These buttons do work on my computer at work. So I'm going to assume it's my poor old not-so-smart-anymore phone.

Thanks - this is always good advice. I'm careful about using HTTPS. I've been using https://club.alembic.com all along.

I'm not a web developer but I can read enough HTML to see that the home page is loading a lot of resources using http: URLs - including some scripts apparently involved in the login process. I don't know whether that has changed at the server side, or whether a recent Firefox update has gotten more picky about this.

I don't stay logged in on websites, so each time I visit I need to log in again. Perhaps most people don't go through the login process each time, and thus are less likely to notice this issue?

This isn't a really big deal for me. I use unique passwords for every website I log in on, and I haven't put much personal information in my profile here.

Quote isn't working for me today so I will copy & paste.

"    One more "oddity on the Alembic Club website" - has anyone but me been getting "this connection is not secure" when logging in? That started for me around the time of the server upgrade.

It isn't a target URL http: to https: problem. I use https: and see this error when I go to manually fill-in the password field. It appears to be something in the page that Firefox doesn't like.
