All I can say is, "Damn Son!" The top looks like Bird's-eye, flats sawn zebrano!

Not the biggest fan of the Darling shape, but the top on this one is outstanding!

Beautiful guitar, I think I would prefer the HG type pickups. :)

Wow.  I like to stay low and prefer 4 strings, but in regards to the original topic… I do know bar chords!

The body shape, the maple figuring, the Alembic logo details!!!  Delicious!

Dan, thank you for posting that!!

I am extremely happy to say that I snagged it.  Not exaggerating - I have been checking online nearly every day for the last 20+ years, waiting for an omega-cut long-scale Series 1 (or 2) guitar to come up for sale.  That probably sounds a bit crazy, but it has always been a dream guitar as my favorite guitarist played one.  They are incredibly hard to find; I am only aware of TWO that have come up for sale in the last 20 years.  No joke.  Unfortunately I wasn't able to pick up either of those before they sold, so I am completely thrilled that I was able to get this one before anyone else did.

Many thanks again!!  :D

Related to the guitars linked above - Sam Ash also posted yet another interesting Alembic guitar today:
https://reverb.com/item/66285359-alembic-custom-electric-guitar-charlotte-nc
Photo below.

Like the first guitar linked in this thread, it has a "Strat style" pickup set, but this one has the "normal" bridge pickup angle instead of the reverse angle.
The maple neck is obviously unusual for Alembic.  But zebrawood ovals?  Interesting.
Then there is the "Starswitch" in place of a regular pickup selector.  I'm really into onboard guitar electronics, but I have to admit I don't think I've ever heard of it, and I can't even figure out how it's supposed to work by looking at it.  Does anyone know what this is?
And the headstock - I've never seen a narrow crown-style headstock like this before.  Or is it stretched?

Based on the similarities between the 1st and 3rd guitars, I wonder if all 3 are from the same guitarist offloading some gear.  E.g. the 4 Alembics currently for sale at the Bananas At Large here in the Bay Area all came from a single person "thinning the herd", according to an employee I spoke with recently.

Congrats, flavofive, nice looking omega Series guitar, and as you said not many of those come up for sale, very nice!  :)

Mike congratulations on you personal victory!
Curious to know who your favorite Alembic slinging guitarist is.
