I know the score about the wait time for these.
I bought this 5 string orion yesterday an awaiting delivery.  It looks a standard build so no surprises expected,  but really curious about the top wood and hoping it is Koa.  will post pic later

I'd guess flame walnut, but I can see why you would think it was koa.

Really looked like Walnut to me, too. Hope you enjoy getting to know your new bass when it arrives!

The grain doesn't look like Koa. Beautiful and I'm jealous!

Yeah, so I thought mine was walnut too. It looks like straight grain book match walnut. It's zebrawood...It really looks similar for sure.

Even before I get the file pulled - I can assure you this is Walnut. Very pretty!
