Listening to the video on my headphones for the first time - WOW the bass sounds great! It's pretty subsonic, but listen when jazzyvee digs in - it almost sounds like there's an octaver! But you can hear some bite too:

Nice.  Thanks for posting.

My pleasure! I met jazzyvee in person over 10 years ago at Alembic Gathering V in 2012 - I always hoped I'd get to see him with Musical Youth, sometimes they came but without the band - so I was psyched! I have always wanted to check out The Mountain Winery too - this was a lovely opportunity - and I say that in the most English way possible!

I put the times for each song in the description - listen to the intro to Pass the Dutchie - the singer (Dennis Seaton) says "We've come a mighty long way - and it's been a hard road to travel this morning" - apparently the band drove up from Southern California that day! We were lucky to have jazzyvee with us here in the Bay Area thru the week since they were on break - like I say, first time in 11 years!

Well i got home yesterday back to the UK from the tour.
This is my first tour as a bass player and i really enjoyed the experience. Whilst i should have took it for granted, I have been REALLY impressed with my Orion. It performed perfectly every night, no adjustment was needed at all and we travelled from palm springs to seattle, Utah, Colorado, Dallas Texas and a dates in California. The sound was good out front i was told. The rigs were all ampeg and apart from one more modern looking ampeg rig, the others were not really giving me a clean sound, but since the bass was direct to the pa, it was not affecting to FOH.

My bass survived unscathed after 8 flights, with around 4 with the bass having to be checked at the gate. There was 1 bit of the case that got damaged at the headstock end but i doubt it has affected the bass, which is still at home in the case unopened while it adjusts to being in the UK.

Glad to hear you and your Alembic made it home safe and sound.   We had a great time hosting you and your lady friend.  Our mini gathering was a lot of fun.

Just getting ready for my first guitar gig in a while. I’m depping for a mate in his UB40 tribute band. No alembic tonight i am using my USA strat ultra and self built Patrick Eggle Berlin Pro on backup duty. I built it from parts bought when the company was moving to a new location in the mid 90’s.

It was my USA 1991 Strat with an ebony fretboard.

I do enjoy the aesthetic of a 'burst Strat... I guess the ebony fingerboards were a special run? It's subtle, but looks nice.  :)

Yes it is a 1991 Fender Strat Ultra. I was told it was the first production strat to have an ebony fretboard. The finish is called Antique Burst.

 8)  Very cool. You guys look like you're having a ball.

*"One Love" from Anaheim was especially fantastic! Just forwarded to my buddies in HGB.  :)  (we used to cover that one every so often...)
