Another Piece of "The Wall".

Allegedly... it sure looks roadworn.

I said to Mica once, there must be pieces of that thing flung from one end of California to the other. She said something about there used to be some parts of it in a box under a corner of her desk.  ;D

For 14 grand one could possibly put together a system that would be sufficient for most of us here. But I could see if one was a fan how this would be attractive.

Only the cab is from the wall, not the speakers.   My band’s PA is 32 channel, plenty loud, and cost a helluva lot less than $14K!

Listing posted by someone in search of the gullible..big waste of money.

For those with Wall fantasies hang on... there is already a working half-scale reproduction for sale. Guy who built it is hoping to find a venue that will invest in it and then use the money to build a full-size replica of the original. The Grateful Dead no longer exist and will never play through it, though, so it will never be "official" and it wouldn't be any easier to move and set up than the original. If he actually achieves his goal there will need to be a "Grateful Dead Theme Park and Concert Venue" built where it could be permanently housed and utilized.

I've been thinking about selling my PA which comes with mains subs and all the stuff to drive them for about $12K less. Oh and mine is in much better shape having covers and/or being blanket wrapped for transport.

I feel for the crew that had to set up and tear down that setup.

And here’s the perfect Grateful Dead McIntosh 2300 power amp to go with the cab.  And only another $25K!

At that price and amplifier weight they should include an orthopedic surgeon and forklift in the sale.

Where not those McIntosh amps included in a recent Heritage auction (with a $25,000 starting bid)?

I own a cabinet just like the one opening in this thread. I acquired it empty many years ago. Furthermore, I loaded it with two JBL K120s that I had waiting for a cabinet.

There was a great picture of the Wall being set up (or torn down) posted on Talkbass:

I guess that was before the days of OSHA  ;D

i recently retired as commercial electrician for a large company with a very strong safety culture.  i can see my old foreman buddies going epiletic over a picture like that.  it's so engrained in me  i  still can't start a home project anymore without having to hunt down my PPE first and go through my job site hazard analysis.

on the other hand, i haven't fallen off of anything lately or cracked my head open with an attic rafter or run 5000 splinters into my hands from grabbing hold of an old crawlspace timber or gotten a blast of  metal fragment to my eyes from grinding angle iron or....

my biggest job site worry these days is my rampant pot consumption.  i'm worse than i was as a teenager.  sheesh!
Been down...now i'm out!
