Ah yes, the old Alembic Hod Rod kit.   My first introduction to all things Alembic was when a buddy of mine had a hot rod kit installed in his ES-330.  As I recall, it was basically a couple of ceramic magnets that replaced the original Alnico magnets in a humbucking pickup, along with some wood shims and some copper shielding tape and shielded wires.    I bought a hot rod kit off of eBay a few years ago, just for sentimental reasons.   I have it in a box somewhere that I haven’t seen since we moved earlier this year.    I had never heard his guitar before the installation, so I had nothing to compare it to.

I remember buying one of these way back in the day. I may even have the magnets around here somewhere. Or not...
