SF2+F2B on stage

My setup tonight. Sandberg VM4/Zon Sonus 5 into SF2 then into F2B channel A. Moog Sub37 straight into F2B channel B. Pure bliss  :D

Great that you found a good setup of your SF-2 and F-2B .
Have you tried using the SF-2 as a preamp on it's own without the F2-B?


I did that for around 2 years until the covid lockdown and got a wonderful smooth and warm sounding bottom end. Set the unit into mono, and take the output from the B output and you get both SF-2 channels to eq your bass.

What's the difference between the two ? There was an F-2B on GC Used that lasted a day, at most.

The F-2B is a stereo preamp while the SF-2 is a filter that can be used stereo or mono.  Think of the SF-2 as super Series electronics in a box.   The SF-2 has an internal switch that can set it to boost the signal by about 10 db, IIRC, so it can be used as a preamp, too.    While I’ve never tried this for guitar, I would expect the adjustability of the SF-2 as a preamp to be somewhat limited compared to the F-2B.

The SF2 has a triple jumper setting that can provide unity, 20db, and some other higher amount of gain (I forget what). It is normally set to 20db and works quite well as a stand alone unit in front of an amp.

I just used it as it is and plugged right in the front when using stand alone and it was fine.

Not yet, but im looking to try it for some other up coming shows!

I had no idea the SF2 has internal controls ??? I dont remember seeing it in the manual. I guess its time to get the screwdriver out  ::)
