2 in, 1 out on SF-2

Hihi, lately I want to try pairing my F2B with my SF2. I figured that I could go channel A from the F2B to the SF2's channel A and channel B from the F2B to SF2's channel B and switch the SF2 to have both channels come out of output B (or something). But that didn't seem to work. I want to do this is because I want to have two different setting per channel for my 2 bass guitars that I will use on stage.

I thought of a way is to use a line selector switch to merge the channels together.

How about trying:


1. Plug bass A into F-2B channel A
2. Plug bass 2 into F-2B channel B
3. Mono out of F-2B into Channel  A of SF-2
4. Channel A out of SF-2 into channel B input of S-F2
5. Channel B out of SF-2 into power amp

I did refer the manual but it does not have a 2 in 1 out explanation 😂

Yes that could work, but wouldn't channel A's signal be filtered by channel B on the SF2? What I am trying to get is Channel A and Channel B of both F2B and SF2 to be separate but only one output at the end. Like how you can do it with the F2B. 2 different EQ but one output

Hi Jack,

Hope things are going well for you.  Here are a couple ideas: 

Have you tried using the SF2 first?  SF2 in stereo, out to F2B channel A and B, then mono out from there.  You'd need to experiment with the gain structure and maybe run the SF-2 in "unity gain".

Or ... run both units in stereo as you described, then sum the A & B outputs of the SF-2 using a couple external resistors (like our stereo to mono mod on the Series basses, or the switch in the DS-5).  That could be done with a special cable or by modifying the DI box you are running into - if that's the next piece in the chain.  If that DI box has an in and out it would be an easy mod...

The SF-2 has only one mono input. I assume you could have your SF-2 modified to have 2 separate inputs that each have a single filter, but you will probably lose the flexibilty of the original setup. Getting a second SF-2 may not be all that expensive in the long run.

Hey Jack, Welcome back. 


I always forget, (because I don't have one) that the F-2B doesn't have an effects loop. I think what you are describing is similar to what I do with my SF-2, except that it's positioned in the effects loop of my F-1X. I could take the Full Range output of that to the amplifier, and get what you are looking for.


Not sure if this is helpful at all. I can't remember if you have an F-1X... I was thinking you did a comparison between them one time.

Hi Picure, over the past year or so i have been trying to get the best way to do what you are doing. The only way I have found do far that works successfully for me is as follows.
Put SF2 in stereo
Bass 1 -> SF2- A then  SF2 -A OUT to F-2b Input A.
Bass 2 -> SF-2 B then  SF-2-B OUT to F-2b input B.

For power then you can either take F-2B Mono out to your power amp, or the individual A and B channels out to separate channels on your stereo power amp to separate cabs.

I also have a stereo Radial Pro-DI that I use to provide DI out which either gets patched in directly after the bass, or from the F-2B outs before the power amp.

One thing I haven't tried but I think would work if you give the pa your post preamp signals, is to use mono out to from the F-2B to your power amp and put F2B A & B outs directly to your DI boxes so you have both basses on a separate channel to the PA and you can then control your stage volume from your power amp controls. This i think would also work if using separate outputs from a series bass.
