DS5 Power Supply and 5-pin cable -HELP Please??

I am new to the club, still learning to navigate here. I have owned my '77 (serial 77-595) 40 years now, steady service,
thousands of gigs no problem, except once back in the 80s I send the card to y'all to get refurbished, great service.
Lately I had my flight case stolen and lost my ds5 power supply and cable. What are my chances of finding a replacement here?
Direct from Alembic or perhaps a swap club?
Please advise and forward as necessary as needed.

You are very likely to find one here!
I checked several months ago and the DS-5 were still on back order. Not sure the current status but you can buy a new one in the shop here if they have them in stock.
We usually have one or two in stock but none at present. I will definitely let you know if that changes.
Do you have a preference of the Rack unit or the little blue box? Email Mary@Alembic.com and she can tell you if they have any in stock.

Welcome bluemoonbasix, that’s great you’ve been playing a Series bass for so long! From what I heard the other day, they are still on back order at Alembic.  You can give Will Gunn a call and place an order for a DS-5 for when they are available again.  Will works directly with the Alembic shop. I recently ordered one from Will, on back order at the moment.

Well hey Michael, I'm glad you found us here. We chatted a while back about your bass, on account of it was made so close to mine at 77-621.


I'd be glad to loan you a spare DS-5 and cable until a permanent solution comes along. One of my Series basses is in the shop being upgraded, so it's just idle here. Actually, the cable is loaned out now, to another member-in-distress, but his issue got resolved so my spare cable is on the way back.


*and yeah, Will Gunn is the best. He can also fix you up with a case.

I have a spare DS-5R (Rack mount type) for Japanese market.  Plug is same style as USA, I believe wattage or voltage is different??
Still have the original Alembic box and in excellent condition (no scratches on the face of the unit).

Also, Ishibashi music had a brand new DS-5 few months back.  They said they're not actively selling it (just keeping it in case they need one) they may be able to sell you that as well.

I am not sure how the transaction should be done... but let me know if you're interested.

Michael. Have you found a DS 5 and 5 pin? I can’t help with the 5 pin but I have an older non rack DS 5 that I can send you for the cost of shipping. I’ll need to test it first to make sure it works since I’ve never actually used it but it’s yours for the cost of shipping of you still need one.

I have both the cable and Rack Mount that I don't use. I was looking on Alembic's store page to get an idea what to charge but I didn't see anything. How about 600.00 for both? I'm not sure what the price is for them would be if they were new.
