Introducing Diablo S/N 08MK13904
« on: August 30, 2022, 10:21:02 AM »
Hello, my name is Thomas and I am the new caretaker of "Diablo", this amazing Alembic bass.

I'll follow up with more details and photos. The inlay work done at the factory is awe inspiring.

Diablo began life as an Alembic Mark King with the following specifications:

Top wood: Coco Bolo
Back wood: Coco Bolo
Neck wood: Maple and Purple Heart
Fingerboard: Ebony
Scale length: 32"
Body shape: balance K
Electronics: Signature

In 2012, Diablo ventured back to the mothership for some improvements:

Inlaid headstock Alembic logo
Inlaid headstock Kokopelli
Inlaid fretboard salamanders
Inlaid notes on fretboard, headstock and body
LED side marker lights (amber)
LED salamander eyes (green)
Multi switch to turn bass off
Modifications to high frequency response
New fretboard and frets
Complete refinish
etc.

Beautiful, congrats!!!!
The bass player’s function, along with the drums, is to be the engine that drives the car… everything else is merely colours.
