Need backplate

My Alembic needs a new backplate. Someone replaced mine with a thin wood version that broke.

I needed a brass replacement backplate (because Stanley Clarke signed the original and I didn't want to keep that one on the bass).  I had a local machine shop duplicate it for me.
Not cheap, but cheaper than I could get one from Alembic.  Note that I had the original, you don't.

<hijack warning>
Victor and Stanley signed the inside of my Distillate backplate when they toured together (pre-SMV).  Sometime after that I had Mike Watt sign it… he had so much fore arm sweat that it smeared Stan’s signature!  Oops.  I guess Sharpies aren’t that permanent. 😄. (and Mike Watt doesn’t hold back when he performs!)

FMM has sound advice, if Mica can’t source one for you right away, check your local Machine Shops (alternative material other than brass could keep the price down).  You also could try wood glue and some fancy clamping…

Good luck. Keep us posted.

I put gray sharpie circles on my Epic right over the neck side dots to make them look bigger and they might last an hour or more gigging but then get rubbed out.
