I may be wrong (and please correct me if I am), but I don't think Alembic's finishes react with cheap stands; that's just nitrocellulose.
As to stability, I worked full-time for 7 bands over 8 years; guitars & basses (and the guitarists frequently carried more than one) were always on stage in the classic double-bow stands (which we called "skull inducers"; I'd explain that, but this is a family place.....). In all that time, through all those shows, with all those axes, there was a grand total of one (1) mishap - that was when a bartender decided, after set-up & while I was in the next room, that he needed to get to a storeroom behind the stage, resulting in a small ding in a matching-headstock, bound-'board, Daphne Blue early '60s Strat (and yes, I did hear about it, at great length & with great vitriol......). And if those stands had come with the strap across the neck bow like they do now, even
that one wouldn't have happened.
I have seen far more damage done by headstocks banging together while being played.
